Leadership AUXLEA |
8 Hours of training in how to be a successful leader and motivate volunteers. |
| Instructor Qualification |
12 Hours of training leading to qualification as an Auxiliary instructor. |

Vessel Examiner |
10 Hour class plus practical applications which permit the member to participate in the VE program. |
|
Program Visitor |
A 6 Hours class which certifies the member as a MDV and a major link with local marinas and boat dealers. |
| Air Operations |
Practical and classroom training leading to qualification as an Air Observer, and training for pilots to be certified as Auxiliary pilots. |
| Crew/ Coxswain |
Practical and classroom training leading to qualification as Boat crew or Coxswain. Boat crew may serve as crew in Auxiliary surface operations, while Coxswains may serve as operators while on authorized surface missions. |
| Seamanship AUXSEA |
10 Hours of advanced training in boat handling, mechanical systems and on-the-water emergencies. |
| Navigation AUXNAV |
32 Hours of training in all aspects of coastal navigation, including piloting, radar and electronic navigation. |
| Communications AUXCOM |
14 Hour class in radio communication allowing the member to participate in the communications program. |

& Rescue AUXSAR |
40 Hours of training in the U.S. Coast Guard Search and Rescue procedures. |
| Patrols AUXPAT |
10 Hours of training in procedures for operating Safety, Regatta and Marine Parade Patrols, and topics on safety and leadership while on the water. |
| Weather AUXWEA |
A comprehensive, 12-hour class in weather -- what causes it and how to predict changes. |
